At the edge of the forest, near a wildflower clearing, you stumbled upon a sight you can scarcely describe. Dozens of hummingbirds darted through the air like sparks of color, weaving through blossoms you’ve never seen bloom in this part of the forest. And then you saw her…
She stood at the center of it all, cloaked in mystery and light. Her hair was the sky itself: one side soft blue of midday, the other golden glow of dawn. Each side blooming with flowers and watched over by her tiny friends.
Like nature was speaking through her.
As you took a cautious step closer, she shifted, tilted her head, and, just for a moment, posed. Not for vanity, but intention. Like she wanted you to carry her image forward, not as a curiosity, but as a memory of who she is: fast, free, beautiful, and not to be underestimated.
And then she was gone.
You don’t know if you found her by accident…or if she let you.
This piece pulsed with the energy of being free, fast, and unbothered, like nothing had to be proved.
A mirror and a symbol of young black women carving paths in wild, bold directions, rooted in beauty, mischief, and power.
